Getting Ready for Summer by Creating Cool Activity Ideas
Summer break is going to be here
before we know it. Getting a jump on fun activities for the kids now can help
you keep from scrambling when summer arrives.
Plus, lots of summer camps and other activities fill up fast, so kids
spend more time at home! We want to make sure we’re minimizing screen time,
minimize the chorus of “I’m
boooored!”, and maximizing creative, dynamic learning time.
By creating activity boxes your kids can access anytime, you give them an answer to every, “Mom and dad, there’s nothing to do!” statement. Hooray!
For the boxes themselves, grab some plastic bins you have around the house, or better yet, recycle some cardboard shipping boxes. Let the kids decorate the outside of the boxes, identifying which activities the boxes contain. That’s part of the fun after all!
Many of these items can be purchased at your local dollar store, or they may be around your home!
