Perfect for Taking on the Road

If your kids are like ours, no matter the season, they spend a ton of time playing outside. Building stick forts, having a snowball fight, playing hide and seek, drawing with sidewalk chalk, sledding, skiing, and of course, riding bikes with friends and family.

Running out of gas and being pooped out before the fun of the day has ended is not an option! We’ve got a few excellent, energy-filled, on-the-go snacky food recipes for those long days of non-stop fun. And each one can be made by the entire family.

Peanut Butter Banana Roll-Up

What you’ll need: Whole Wheat Tortillas Peanut Butter Bananas Crushed nuts

Throwing it together: Spread the peanut butter on an open tortilla Add some crushed nuts all around Place whole banana in the tortilla and roll it up! Cut in half NOM NOM NOM!

Dried Fruit and Nut Clusters

What you’ll need: Get a nice mixture of dried fruit and nuts. Our favorites have cranberries, almonds, papaya, cashews, coconut, banana chips, raisins, etc. Bag of good Dark Chocolate Chips

Throwing it together: Melt chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl for about 1 minute. Stir well. Microwave for another 30 seconds or until the chocolate is smooth. Pour in fruit and nut mixture. Stir until the mixture is covered with chocolatey goodness! Drop bite sized portions on a cookie sheet Freeze for 30 minutes CHOW DOWN!

Fruit Smoothie

What you’ll need: 2 cups frozen berries 2 Tbsp. flax seeds 1/2 cup orange juice 3/4 cup yogurt 1 frozen banana 1-2 Tbsp honey

Pop it in zee blender: Blend all that deliciousness up and throw it in an insulated cup. SLUUURRRPP!!
